Rebecca Watson Hill
Professional singer and educator

About Rebecca

I have been a professional solo singer for many years, working in opera, oratorio, recitals and more recently cross-over. I have always taught alongside my performing career although in recent years I have focused on my teaching. I have found being able to focus more of my time on my teaching has been both enlightening and rewarding.

As a singing teacher, I work with people of all ages and abilities, some of my students come for lessons for well-being and pure enjoyment and others have gone on to become professional singers. I teach all genres, classical, musical theatre and pop. As well as working with healthy voices I am a trained Vocal Health First Aider and can help direct students and clients in the right direction, either giving them specific exercises and a rehabilitation programme to work with or send them to the correct ENT or SLT specialist if required.

I have been fortunate to work in a variety of excellent schools specialising in music and during the years of teaching I have been able to study and keep up to date with my research and teaching practice to be able to adapt to each individual student. Alongside my teaching I have had the privilege of working as vocal consultant for Scottish Opera, helping create programmes and workshops for their education department and for ten years I created and performed concerts for Lost Chord, a charity providing interactive concerts for people living with dementia.

I have recently set up my teaching practice in the West Coast of Scotland, and I continue to teach students online throughout the UK and abroad.
